Zsuzsa Kovacs

Head Instructor & Co-Founder

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Zsuzsa has lived in Singapore since the end of 2012.

Having studied Natural Therapies in Queensland, Australia over 25yrs ago, Zsuzsa discovered her passion in life; helping people heal their body’s through nutrition, natural medicine and manual therapy.

Never straying too far from natural medicine, Zsuzsa has continued to be an avid researcher, staying abreast of the latest developments in illness and the integration of natural medicine supporting the body to heal itself.

Zsuzsa’s introduction to pilates happened over 35 years ago, when she was exposed to a series of floor exercises. Finding them to be surprisingly effective, she continued to practice them frequently throughout her teenage years, only to discover many years later that it was the Pilates Mat Work she had been doing!

As a firm believer of Joseph Pilates’ principles and now a convert, Pilates would drift in and out of Zsuzsa’s life many times in the following 20yrs before she realised that it was her calling and would become her life’s work.

The proud mother of 3 adult children, pilates again was to play a prominent role in her life, when she found it to be the only effective exercise to close up her diastasis recti and restore pelvic floor tonality and strength and give her back the dignity and quality of life she had before the physical strains of pregnancy and post natal care.

Zsuzsa applies her passion by healing bodies through movement and alignment in her Pilates classes.

Phebe Kovacs

Instructor

Training in ballet since the age of 5, movement has been an integral part of Phebe’s life. At an early age Phebe made the mental and physical commitment to train towards becoming a professional ballerina. Whilst her primary training was in Singapore, Phebe attended training with Paris Opera Ballet school, France; the Vaganova Academy, Russia; Academie de Princesse Grace, Monaco; Bolshoi Ballet, US; Australian Ballet School, Australia; and Singapore Dance Theatre’s Scholar program.

In 2018 Phebe attended Vocational school at the Hungarian Dance Academy, Hungary; until the COVID worldwide lock down brought her back to Singapore. Whilst the covid pandemic was to end of her ballet career, Phebe wanted to continue working in the field of movement and healing.

Pilates had been a consistent part of Phebe’s life since the age of 12 and credits the minimal injuries she experienced whilst dancing due to the strength, stability, alignment, flexibility and mind body connection that Pilates creates.

Starting the next chapter of her life, Phebe found herself being consistently pulled back to movement, how it heals and with her deeper understanding and respect for the brilliance of Joe Pilates work, decided to take up formal training and certification of pilates and interweave her many years of dance and observation of movement into her sessions to help her clients achieve their individual goals.
